Before you read my selected survey companies I need to steer you on the right direction:

• You should never pay for completing surveys.

• Never trust to those who promise $50 to complete a survey. No one pays that much for your opinion. Never pay a fee for a survey as they are all scams.
  

• You need patience for which you will get paid $1 - $5,  You need to pass the screening profile survey in order to qualify for the actual paid survey.
  

• You cannot leave your job, lay down and type all the surveys that you want.
  

• The money that you can expect from the reliable survey providers is roughly $200 per month. But you can still pay some bills and be happy about it.
  

• Do an estimate if it's worth your precious time.Now that you know the basics, read on.
  

Your earnings are taxable

You need to pay taxes as a self-employed, and this simply means that you need to declare your earnings to the relevant bodies, in your resident country.
Make sure you pay the taxes where you receive the money. For example, if you are UK based and you receive payments on your paypal account, those earnings eventually will end-up in your current account.

You need to make sure that you track them and declare them accordingly when it's due. Keep relevant documentation regarding your payments.
You can also set-up a business account as a sole trader( unique shareholder of the business), and ask the bank to worry about it. If you have relevant electronic earnings I suggest you the business account, they take care about all the accounting matters and no fuss.

I think that it is worth doing it but only as a combined activity, while you are expanding towards other ways of generating electronic income.

It is the most reliable US survey provider in the world and the one that pays the most, especially if you are a US citizen. Their surveys are programmed very well, as I never experienced any problems while their pay is amongst the highest. Daily Survey Panel

Daily Survey Panel offers a variety of surveys, very frequent, and can earn you a good and constant $1-$2 per day. Make sure you complete your profile accordingly in order to qualify for regular surveys. You will see your points adding up 24 hours upon completion. They don't have a minimum payout, you can redeem as low as $1 on your paypal account.
I used it and it's a reliable survey company. They have a very friendly customer service approach and response on any queries in few hours time. Worldwide applicants may apply.

Toluna

Toluna is one of the best points collector website that has many valuable features amongst which a £12 amazon.com voucher. If you manage to complete a lot of surveys you might get £24 in vouchers and use them to purchase items on the website.You can also earn money giving 80 worded opinions to up to 5000 points per month.
It is a valuable website and they do reward your precious time. Make sure you keep track of submitted surveys. There is a unique number given to you before you access the programmed system of the company that provides the survey. Make sure you keep track of those numbers in case you need to claim your points back. It is a proof against your time being spent in giving your opinion for them. Worldwide applicants may apply.

Palm Research

Palm Research is a legit website where you can earn cash for completing on-line surveys. Their current panel is available to USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Island and Germany. I rank palm research high as it sends 2 emails per day and if you qualify for the survey you can earn $1 for each of them, if you add them up they can become $60 in one month. They have a $10 minimum payout, by check or via paypal.

Global Test Market

It was founded in 1999 and it has been there for long time. They do daily surveys for which you can earn points, usually 50 or 100 per survey, depends on the length and if you qualify for them. Once you reach 1,000 MarketPoints, you can redeem your balance for $50 U.S. dollars. Sweepstakes winners will be contacted directly to claim their cash prize.
So whenever you complete a survey beyond your cash you have an entry for a possible cash prize in the future. Worldwide applicants may apply.

Global Opinion Panels

This panel does not send you daily surveys but when it does I usually qualify and gives good points that you can redeem for cash. The surveys are quite short and you need to collect at least 9000 points for the first payout of £5. US, UK, Canada, Australia, Belgium and some other countries are eligible.
